John Lennon’s Killer Up For Parole

Convicted Killer Mark David Chapman is up for parole for the sixth time. The man responsible for killing John Lennon could be questioned sometime this week, according to CNN.
Chapman’s request for parole is just a few months short of the 30th anniversary of Lennon’s death.
2008 was the last time Chapman was up for parole where the New York State Division of Parole released a statement saying “due to concern for the public safety and welfare” his request was denied. Chapman was denied parole in 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006.
Chapman, 55, is currently serving a sentence of 20 years to life in prison for the murder of Lennon. Chapman shot and killed Lennon outside his New York City apartment on December 8, 1980.
Chapman has been serving his prison sentence for the past 29 years at the maximum-security Attica Correctional Facility. According to reports, he’s in a building where other prisoners aren’t posing a threat to him.
Just last month Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono, wrote a letter requesting Chapman’s parole to be denied.
